2004 Western rally images
Images of the 2004 Western Rally have been posted to the web site. Many thanks go to Joe Cable (MRA #1026) for supplying the photos. Keith Williams (MRA #1462) has posted photos of the same rally on his own site. The photos and a link to Keith's site can be found via the Past Trips page.

MRA shipments delayed
Due to an issue at work, Lynne will be unable to ship ordered goodies and the welcome packages for new members. This condition may last for 30 days or longer, starting 05/20/04. During this time, Lynne also will have no access to e-mail, so she will not be able to respond to inquiries either. We apologize for the situation, but unfortunately, the resolution is beyond our control.
Bike trading scam update
One of our members just reported running into to scam posted below. After being contacted by e-mail, he smelled a rat when the seller offered a check for $4,300 over the asking price. When he did not respond to the offer, the scammer(s) actually contacted him by phone wondering why he had not gotten back to them. So, the scam is real and alive. Definitely do beware!

Beware of bike trading scam
There is a scam involving overseas buyers of motorcycles. They offer to buy your bike and send you more than what you ask. Then they ask you to return the balance to their shipper after getting your price. This ranges from $4000-5000 depending on scam artist. They send you a "bank" check for lots of money and want you to cash it and send them the balance after buying your bike to Nigeria (or somewhere) by Western Union. This is a scam and the FBI, Secret Service, and Interpol want these people. BEWARE!

G-man's web site
As many of you already know, G-man is loosing his web serving host, so his excellent Magna site is going to disappear. The MRA will include parts of G-man's site to preserve most of what is of interest to us all. We have a copy of the site, but it may take a little while to make things fit with our existing content.
Emergency Services List
The emergency services list is complete. The functionality is the same as for the regular membership list. This list is password protected as requested by the members.
Anyone who submits the form will get an e-mail back to the address that he/she supplied when they joined the MRA. Only when we get a positive reply to that e-mail will the volunteered services be listed on the MRA site. This system prevents spoofed submittals without requiring the sign-up form to be hidden behind yet another password.
The mail will be processed once a day, so please don't wait by the mailbox for the confirmation mail to come in :-)

Information Board
The MRA Information Board has found a new home at EZBoard. For the time being, the board is accessible by MRA members only. The board requires a free EZBoard account in order to post. If you do not already have an EZBoard account, click here to set one up. Once you receive your password, you can log in through the EZBoard front page. A succesful log-in brings you to your Control Center where you can change your personal information at any time. From the control center, there is a link back to the MRA board.
If you have cookies enabled, the navigation bar link at the bottom of the MRA web pages will get you to the Information Board without having to go through the log on sequence again.
The first time you try to post to the MRA Information Board, you will be asked for the board password.

Magna Information Board archive
There is an archive for the old Magna Information Board at InsideTheWeb. The archive can be accessed through the navigation links at the bottom of the MRA site pages. This archive is not a verbatim store of all messages posted to the board.
The board host, InsideTheWeb did not provide a way to archive messages, so everything in the archive had to be culled and formatted manually. As a result, only specific topics were considered for archival
MRA Flyer
MRA Member Brian Kemerly has come up with a great looking flyer to promote the MRA. If you think there are some Magna riders in your area that might be interested in the MRA, please print out a few copies and see if your bike shop is willing to post them. Thank you very much.
